Favorite Micro Four Thirds Lens
As I grew into the m43 (micro four-thirds) camera gear, like any photographer, I started getting many different lenses. Most were based on reviews I had read and also based on my personal needs and desires for focal lengths.
As my experience grew, I soon found I had collected five different lenses. Most were made by Panasonic with exception to one which was made by Olympus. Part of the reason I went with Panasonic is the built-in O.I.S. (optical image stabilization) and two of the lenses are also water-resistant which works great in rainy or wet conditions with a sealed camera like the Panasonic GH3, GH4, and GH5.
Of my five lenses, I find one in particular that I just love to shoot with unless I am doing landscapes. The focal length I find to be very useful, great shallow depth of field with nice bokeh, built-in stabilization., weather sealed to compliment my weather sealed camera and great image quality.
So what is this fantastic lens? It is the Panasonic LUMIX G X Vario Lens, 35-100mm, F2.8 ASPH. When I purchased this lens, it was over the $1,000 range but now, you are able to find it well under that price new. I love using this lens for portraits and anything where I need a little more reach. You can see examples below.
